Humpty Dumpty may be better known for falling off walls, but it seems he can also get into a jam.
Little Cherub finally achieved that inevitable toddler rite of passage ... getting something stuck in the VCR. Did she think that if she posted a book of nursery rhymes in there it would play them to her?
Not as creative as Star, who got a spanner into the works. Literally. (Blue. Plastic. From a Meccano set.) More creative, but easier to remove. The book was well and truly jammed. I finally managed to poke it out with a knitting needle.

oooh that's one we haven't had yet. We almost never use the VCR-- it isn't even plugged in-- so I don't think we'll be dealing with it soon, though you never know.
Bella did manage to hit the eject button on the dvd player, though, and got quite distressed when the little drawer popped out. She cried until I came and fixed it. And then reminded her she's not supposed to touch the electronics.
LOL! My son put a peanut butter and jelly sandwich into ours once. What a mess!
Oh, you need one of those nifty little covers that you can pop into the front of the VCR. We've had one since Anne was a toddler and I'm sure it saved us many a video disaster. I wonder if they even make them anymore, now, with VHS on the downhill slide ....
