I keep thinking of things I want to blog about, then never get around to writing. Maybe if I post a list here as a place marker it will give me a nudge and stop everything slipping past me.

Can I make a vote for Bletchley Park? The kids and I listen to Treasure Quest on BBC 3 Counties every week, and they're often being sent to Bletchley Park to learn something about the codebreakers.
Also - as for Star and her wish for birds, she should talk to Gabi! (www.poshknits.com) Gabi's budgie Pandora lived for 12 long years. Weekly cleaning the cage and daily changing food and water. Not to mention cuttle bones, treat, millet spray, little toys, cage and cover. She was an adorable bird who could play three different games and actually imitated wild bird song as well as the telephone ring, but 12 years is a really long time to have to clean up after a bird. (Oh - they throw their seed hulls everywhere and you have to hoover under the cage every day.)
She also had a rat, who was even more work to care for each day, but rats only live about 3 years - so not quite the investment. She currently has a dog. (She's a pet person and a glutton for punishment, but will be a very attentive mother one day!)
